Whether you are seeking guidance on the expungement process or looking for direct legal assistance, our team of experienced attorneys and volunteers is here to support you every step of the way.
JOIN US SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 2025, FROM 1-5 PM, AT SHAPE COMMUNITY CENTER!
Eligibility will be determined for Harris County cases only.
STEP ONE: CHECK ELIGIBILITY
ONLY 100 PRE-SCREENING APPLICATION SPOTS ARE AVAILABLE!
STEP TWO: 14 DAY REVIEW
HLA will notify the first 100 pre-screened applicants within 14 days if they qualify for an expungement and if so, the next steps for the April 26th clinic.
STEP THREE: WALKINS WELCOME
HLA will inform walk-ins of their expungement eligibility onsite. Expungement forms will be completed if walk-ins are eligible and resources allow.
STEP FOUR: HLA PAYS THE COST!
HLA will prepare and file the expungement forms, and cover all filing fees for the first 50 qualifying individuals! Priority will be given to pre-screened applicants.
For Those Beyond the First 50: HLA will still prepare expungement forms for qualifying individuals. However, they will need to cover all associated fees & complete the filing.
Expungement Clinic Volunteers and Pro Bono Attorneys Needed Saturday April 26, 2025, from 1-3pm or 3-5 pm!
We are looking for volunteers (non-legal assistance) to help with our expungement clinic. Roles include check-in table, intake, resource table, set up and breakdown crew.
We are looking for pro bono attorneys to assist with our expungement clinic. Attorneys will be assigned clients who qualify for an expungement, and will be responsible for handling the clients’ cases from start to finish.

March 25th – Pre-Screening Application Opens
March 25th – Attorney and Volunteer Registration Opens
April 16th - Attorney and Volunteer Orientation (virtual from 6-7 pm)
April 26th - Expungement Clinic at SHAPE from 1-5 pm
May 10th - Expungement Attorney Check-in Meeting (virtual)
